Hint

The stick can be purchased at the manufacturer’s website: http://jethome.ru/z2/

The Zigbee USB Stick JetHome JetStick Z2 is designed to act as a coordinator or Zigbee router and can be used to control other wireless Zigbee based home infrastructure devices as part of a Smart Home controller with the appropriate software installed and configured.

The Stick is based on a state-of-the-art multiprotocol wireless microcontroller for the 2.4GHz range by Texas Instruments CC2652P1 and features increased transmitter output power.

Technical Specifications

  • The *48Mhz *Arm® Cortex®-M4F processor.

  • Flash 352KB.

  • ROM 256KB (for library functions).

  • SRAM 80KB.

  • Transmitter output power up to +20 dBm.

  • Power supply voltage 5V from USB.

  • Current consumption in active mode is less than 100 mA.

  • The dimensions of the stick in the case without external antenna: 62 x 18 x 10 mm.

An external 2.4GHz band antenna is included.

The stick can also be used with other external 2.4GHz antennas. The RP-SMA connector on the stick is used to connect the external antenna.

The stick board also contains: a button for switching the microcontroller loading mode (used to flash the microcontroller), two LEDs (green and red), which can be used to display the stick operation modes.

The operation of the LEDs depends on the firmware installed in the stick microcontroller.

The back side of the board has pads for connecting a debugger (JTAG).

Hardware features

The stick is hardware compatible with the original Texas Instruments board LAUNCHXL-CC1352P-2.

The transition to the loader mode is carried out when the logic level at the input DIO_15 of the microcontroller is low. The state of this input can be controlled by the FLASH button, installed on the stick board. The low logic level at the input DIO_15 is set when the button is pressed.

The microcontroller pins DIO_28 and DIO_29 are used to control the external RF switch.

The LEDs are connected to the DIO_6 (red LED) and DIO_7 (green LED) pins of the microcontroller. A high logic level on these pins lights the corresponding LED.

The microcontroller uses a USB-UART Silicon Labs CP2102 interface converter chip to communicate with the computer.

The DTR and RTS lines of the serial port implemented on the Silicon Labs CP2102 chip are used to control the hardware reset and to switch the loading mode of the microcontroller.
