What should I do if the BOOT button in the JetHome JetHub H1 controller is broken?

On the back of the controller, between the Ethernet and microUSB interfaces, there is a BOOT button recessed into the case. The button allows you to switch the controller to the firmware mode. Some users inattentively read the sequence of actions when flashing the controller, described in our documentation, and use excessive force to tear the button off the board or cause mechanical damage to it. Thus, they make it unusable.

How to click the button correctly?

  • We take a pointed object - a paper clip or a toothpick will do just fine.
  • Unplug the controller.
  • You can practice and feel button press stroke. When pressed correctly, you will feel the characteristic click of the microswitch.
  • Press the button and apply power to the controller. You can start the flashing process.

 Full firmware instructions described here.

Attention! To prevent mechanical damage to the BOOT button, when accessing the button through a hole in the controller case, do not use sharp objects and do not apply much force when pressing the button.

What to do if the button is broken?

If the button is broken, do not panic. You can flash the controller using Amlogic Burning Tool. To do this:

  • You need to open the JetHome JetHub H1 controller case. How to do it? - separate page in documentation (be very careful and read the documentation on opening the controller, otherwise you will end up with a broken the button will also be added with broken case latches).
  • On the controller board we find the "Update" pins.
  • Turn off the power.
  • Metal object (with a screwdriver) close the pins, you can use the jumper.
  • The subsequent steps of the firmware process described here< /a>.
